June, a Vietnamese Fusion Wedding

In June 2023, A and H had a beautiful Vietnamese and American fusion wedding day in Dayton, Ohio.

I had the honor of being their wedding photographer, and I had the best time working with them and experiencing their family and wedding day.

We started as many semi traditional Vietnamese weddings do, with a tea ceremony at A’s home. Her family and friend as well as H’s flooded their yard and home, and it was so special to see how everyone in their circle of loved ones celebrated them. No joke, I’m pretty sure there were two buses, and three limousines full of family and friends that pulled up to the ceremony.

Gift and jewelry exchanges are a common events that hold significance in Asian weddings.

After the ceremony at A’s home was completed, we moved to H’s house to continue celebrating. The wedding couple received many gifts and well wishes, and then shared a meal with their family.

After a couple hour break, we joined together again that evening for their reception, which was the where the most Asian and American fusion of cultures came into play.

Overall, A and H had an amazing wedding day surrounded by all the people who love them and celebrated their marriage with karaoke, many rounds of shots, and an infectious atmosphere. It was honestly hard to leave when photo coverage had ended, because their reception was so full of life and love.

I love every one of my wedding couples, and can’t wait to celebrate more unions of people and cultures in 2024!
